Laut einer Meldung von USA Today ist am 20. Juli 2015 der amerikanische Songwriter und Countrymusiker Wayne Carson im Alter von 72 Jahren in einem Krankenhaus gestorben. Der in Colorado geborene Carson schrieb Erfolge wie „The Letter“ für die Box Tops, „Somebody Like Me“ für Eddy Arnold und den Welterfolg „Always On My Mind“, der ihm zwei Grammys als Song des Jahres und Bester Countrysong einbrachte und in der Version von Willie Nelson 1982 und 1983 als Song des Jahres von der Country Music Association ausgezeichnet wurde.

USA Today reports that 72 year old songwriter and country musician Wayne Carson died in a hospital on July 20th, 2015. Colorado-born Carson wrote songs like „The Letter“ for the Box Tops and „Somebody Like Me“ for Eddy Arnold. The world-famous „Always On My Mind“ brought him two Grammys (Song of the Year and Best Country Song) and the version of Willie Nalson was named Song of the Year by the Country Music Association oth in 1982 and 1983. |
