Variety.com meldet, dass der Produzent und Songwriter Billy Sherrill am 04.08.2015 verstorben ist. Der in Alabama geborene Sherrill schrieb Songs wie „Stand By Your Man“ oder  „The Most Beautiful Girl“. Für „Almost Persuaded“ und „A Very Special Love Song“ wurde er jeweils mit einem Grammy als Bester Songwriter ausgezeichnet. 2008 wurde er in die Musicians Hall Of Fame und 2010 in die Country Music Hall Of Fame aufgenommen. 1999 wurde er von der BMI als Country Songwriter des 20. Jahrhunderts ausgezeichnet.

He received a Best Songwriter Grammy for „Almost Persuaded“ as well as for „A Very Special Love Song“.In 2008 he was inducted into the Musicians Hall Of Fame an d in 2010 into the Country Music Hall Of Fame.
